The Powder Feeder Advantage

The Automated Process Equipment Corporation (APEC) powder feeder can improve your system efficiency by metering the right amount of materials from the ingredient source—such as a bulk bag or another container—into a mixer or another downstream process.

Our powder screw feeders are designed for precise metering of dry additives and are available in Loss In Weight or Volumetric configurations.

Standard Features

Volumetric Configuration


  • 6.7 cubic foot capacity ingredient hopper
  • Hinged lid with locking handle, gas springs and prox switch for refill indication
  • Bolted in expanded metal trash screen
  • Feeder screw sized to your rate needs
  • 1-1/2 HP feeder screw gearmotor drive
  • U-trough with removable cover
  • Mechanical bin agitator with separate 3/4 HP gearmotor drive prevents material bridging
  • Sheave and timing belt drive components

Loss In Weight Configuration


  • Platform scale with floor support frame
  • Loss In Weight Control panel that can be mounted on the floor support frame or independent of the feeder

Please note: The Loss In Weight Configuration includes all features of the Volumetric configuration, as well as the platform scale and control panel additions.
