APEC’s New Universal Feeder Bins

The Superior Design of APEC Feeder Bins

APEC’s feeder bins boast a superior design that will save you time and make your processing run smoother. With a flexible and highly hygienic design, an adjustable hopper discharge, and a precise measuring system, our bins are made to fit all applications and markets.

Here is a breakdown of why the APEC feeder bins with custom fabrication and engineering are superior to traditional feeder bins.

Flexible Design

APEC’s feeder bins come in a wide range of sizes, suitable for every need. They are also highly customizable for your specific operation. They can be conveniently mixed and matched by:

  • Bin Size
  • Feeder Type
  • Feeder Size

The pre-drilled leg works with both tri or quad designs. Their platform and extension leg additions allow for conversion from table mount to stand alone options. The screw feeder housings accept 1, 2, 3, and 4 inch screw assemblies.

Adjustable Hopper Discharge

Many feeder bins make you choose either one discharge option or the other, locking you into one method.

APEC’s hopper discharge is positioned to accept either a vibratory feeder or a screw feeder, allowing you the choice to use whichever method that works best for your particular process and gives you the capability of changing your method without having to purchase a new feeder bin.

Vibratory Feeder: Uses vibration and gravity to move or “feed” material in a certain direction. This type of feeder is used primarily to transport a large quantity of small-sized pieces.

Screw Feeder: Uses a rotating helical screw blade or “flighting” (usually within a tube) to move material in a certain direction. This type of feeder can handle difficult materials such as pigments, sticky solutions, and bridging or flooding powders.

Precise Measuring System

To determine portion size and to meet accurate measurement requirements, APEC’s feeder bins are available in the following measuring system options:

Volumetric: Materials are measured by the amount of space it occupies inside the feeder bin. Discharge rate is controlled by feeder speed, based on prior calibration.

Loss In Weight: Materials are weighed, allowing direct measurement of and control in the flow rate of gravity that discharges the material.

Capable of making precise measurements, our models are outfitted to deliver consistently dependable results.

Highly Hygienic Design

As helpful as the above innovations are to the speed and efficiency of your processing, the most important element of APEC’s feeder bins is its highly hygienic design. Poor equipment design and construction have been named causative factors in foodborne illness outbreaks.

Our equipment, however, limits the chance of contamination by meeting every food safety requirement, regulation, and recommendation. With no crevices, cracks, or uncleanable surfaces that may harbor dangerous pathogens, our design and construction allows for complete sanitation. Tri-clamp fittings on the bins make disassembling easy, offering easy accessibility for inspection.

Taking all these factors into consideration, it is clear that APEC’s feeder bins are superior to traditional bins which don’t offer the same helpful features.
